Shazia spends a great deal of her time on location, sketching and taking photographs of the landscape that inspires her.
Shazia uses a variety of tools, brushes, sponges, palette knives etc. to create an image that is organic and unplanned. Chance and random interference are essential elements of the creative process for her.
Shazia graduated with an M.A in Fine Art Painting from Winchester School of Art in 1997. This included studying at their studio base in Barcelona for nine months. She completed her B.A. Honours Degree in Fine Art from the University of Creative Arts, Farnham. She is a full time artist and lives and works on the Sussex coast.
I paint the West Coast of Scotland and have done for 23 years, it never fails to inspire me. I am always silenced and stunned by Scotlands landscape.
